I'm looking at upgrading my monitor, and in turn will need to upgrade my graphics card to suit.

I'm looking to change to an ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor, and my initial thoughts are that a 3070 should do the job amicably, assuming it is indeed roughly on par with a 2080ti.

Am I right in assuming that the majority of 3080 owners have chosen this card for 4k gaming, or are the majority of you running less than 4k resolution, and upgraded just because it's the latest card?

I chose a 3080 and hopefully get one this side of Christmas:) but I game at 1440p high refresh rate. My monitor is 165hz but it doesn’t have to be that high

I am not an owner of a 3080 but have preordered. Most of my gaming will be 1080p, however I have 3 1080p screens and would like to do some flight simming across all three

Cheers guys, I may opt for a 3080 for 3440x1440 based on this - although with my aging eyes I doubt I'll see the difference on anything more than 75fps/hz which the 3070 will probably do :p

2k Ultrawide @ 144hz

3840x1600 UW for driving games/sims 2560x1440 for 1st/3rd person both 144hz panels.

I think a 3070 will do a great job at either UW or 16:9 1440p

I've got a preorder FTW3 3080 I'm at 3440*1440 120hz.

Tbh for triple A titles you'd want at least 2080 + perf if using RDR2 as an example that will get you a a bit above 60fps.

So I'll take the hopefully ~90fps from the 3080.

I think the 3080 is looking to be overkill or even scale poorly with 2560*1440 and below.

I've been 1440p 144hz on my GTX 980 for the past few years. Ordered a MSI X Gaming Trio 3080 and will be going for a 120hz 4K HDMI 2.1 TV once I know its in stock and on its way for my new PC + Xbox Series X. I Don't play any competitive games on PC generally.

1080p @ 240hz, I'll be buying one of those 360hz monitors once available. I'm well aware I'll need a new CPU to really push the minimums up.

I've also got a long fibre HDMI lead so I can play single player titles on the OLED TV.
