3080 sent in for RMA

That's a nice little upgrade. How long was the warranty on the asus? I remember thinking about upgrading my 3080 when the warranty ended, that was 1.5 years ago!

The biggest issue with a manufacturer RMA is always the time. They are sloooooooow. Expect to be without your card for a few weeks if it has to go that way.

that's depend on the circumstances.

I sent Asus laptop for rma a while ago (motherboard failed).

The parcel was collected on Thursday (Glasgow), on Saturday it was already in Poland and I had my laptop back, fixed & cleaned, the following Tuesday.

I was impressed - 5 days turnaround!

According to OC coil whine isn’t a returnable reason. They say this even tho they took my friends card for rma due to coil whine haha. Do I accept the card and risk it?

"reasonable" coil whine isn't, I agree with OCUK
"excessive" coil whine should be though, if it's deafening I would fire them another RMA request with a video of the severity of the whining

Do I accept the card and risk it?
i would, purely for the 12gb vram.
do note that the 3080ti power spikes are also in excess of the 3080, so make sure your psu is up to scratch

I have a 850w Corsair to psu atm

It should be okay. Iirc, the 3080 power spikes are 490w, the 3080ti power spikes are 540w.
should be fine other than my gpu and cpu I only have one nvme 2tb so it should be fine, plan to get a new psu when I get a newer generation card anyway

I received my 3080ti Vision Oc 12gb and it works a treat. Very easy process took 6 days from shipping my gpu to get the new one, 8 days from first contact for the full turnaround! Great service got to say.
excellent. no coil whine too?

enjoy the upgrade and the 12gb ram!

I'd expect no less than a month, at least thats how long Gigabyte too for mine and even then they just straight out swapped it for another (which was also faulty)
