3080 stupidly loud

I sold a 2070 super which was near silent to upgrade to an Aurora Alienware RTX 3080. The noise is horrific during gaming, as bad as a Dyson hoover full chat next to the pc. The card is new. Silent for browsing, deafening when gaming. Can undervolting help?

If i received a new card that bad id sooner return it than try to fix it by undervolting.

It could be poorly applied thermal paste and/or pads.

yes, dell did, unfortunately the cooling solution isn't great

I believe MSI make the card. Afterburner and X1 precision are unable to override pre set fans. I set the fans at 50% lock it in and the noise and temp is acceptable. I start a game and it ramps up the fans.

I know looks don't mean much, but yikes, I've seen 6600s and 3050s with chunkier coolers than that.

I was hoping he was going to clean all of the thermal paste off and do it a bit more sparingly but nope, complete dogs dinner.
