Currently have a EVGA XC3 3080, runs great, no reason to upgrade, but came in a pre-build which has gone so there is no warranty. (Although might be able to register with EVGA but not tried this yet)

Pulse 7800XT currently on offer for £475, sell the Avatar code for circa £35 nets £440 cost.

Can walk my 3080 to CEX for £357 cash, so a total cost of £83 to go from 3080 > 7800XT with then also a warranty, seems a no brainer?

Mainly playing COD, which I know also favours AMD.

Discuss :p

Downgrade in multiple ways, less RT grunt, worse upscaler, worse input latency reducer feature i.e. you lose reflex, lose out on ray reconstruction (only in 2 games at the moment but will become more common), lose out on dldsr and it's basically evenly matched in raster except for likes of cod.

Only make the move if cod is your main game and you have gone through the checklist to rule out you using any of the above features.

The pro's warranty, 16gb Vram and less power usage.

The negatives are pretty well stated above. If the 3080 does not fail and you would be unlucky if it does then it's not a swap i would make. If it does fail ahh well get the wallet out and maybe by then there will be something better which is an upgrade.
