until last night the GPU was watercooled. Just in case I put the air cooler back on. It proved I was getting power to the card, if nothing else. Everything's now on hold until the cheapo GPU arrives. i'll be better placed to confirm what's at fault. then

3090 not recognised after changing MB

It’s alive, my £1500 gpu is not shagged
ultimately it was a bios issue, I think. I think the MB didn’t support the new Ryzen CPU. Only when I used the bios flash utility did it come back to life. I did though replace the RAM, which have also been a little dodgy.
Odd replacing back in the old MB did’nt work though, making me wander about the RAM.
still assuming I can windows to boot I’ve a more pleasant weekend ahead of me than I’d thought.
