30D IR question

Have any of you 30D owners tryed using it to do IR shots? just wondering what the image quality comes out like as i was in the lakes last week and had alittle go at doing some IR shots but they seem very grainy and quite dark. This was the first time ive tryed it on the 30 as ive mainly done IR stuff on my 300D which works fine

Yeah I do it. I did more on my 20D (which is basically the same camera)

You have to use good warm/bright days for good IR with Canon cameras.

I usually set the ISO to 200 - 400 and expect upto about 60seconds at F8 / F11

You will get grainy imagary and the IQ wont be a good as visible light images due to how warm the sensor will get.
