ok so my hunt for a new camera to replace my 20d (which i just sold 20 mins ago) is fully underway.
I have the opportunity to go for the 30d or the 5d. Immediately the majority of people say full frame is best, but is it really? Sure the 5d is more expensive, but does this make it better?
I love the fact that the 5d has a larger bright viewfinder, and its full frame sensor means i wont have to swap lenses as much at the lower end, but there is a flip side which I've only discovered after reading up in many reviews - something that I didnt think about before.
APS sensors use the sweet spot of a lens (the centre) so image quailty is pretty much great at all part of the image. FF sensors use the extreme edges of a lens and therefore suffer from fallout and CA at the edges - sometimes severely when wide open.
I'd really appreciate anybodys experiance and thoughts of the 5d. it does sound great having a full frame camera but at £700 less, the 30d has an awful lot going for it.
