Hi guys,
the past few days my connection has been around 30kbps instead of around the usual 4000kbps. Setup:
First Room
Virgin cable modem connected to Netgear Router connected to Netgear Homeplug.
Other room
Netgear Homeplug connected to Netgear Switch connected to 2 PCs.
This is a fairly new setup, before the Homeplugs the PCs were in the same room as the cable modem and router. However, this setup ran fine for a week, but now I've got a really crap connection!
I've taken my PC into the other room and connected it directly to the cable modem - 4000Mbs fine.
I've connected the Cable modem to the router to the PC - 4000Mbps - fine.
I've reconnected the original method to my second PC - still 30kbps - not fine
I've been on the phone to Virgin for over an hour and they say there's a software problem somewhere. However, I've turned off both Windows firewalls (one Vista, the other XP) and closed down all anti-virus stuff (just AVG actually) and it's still a problem.
Any ideas before I blow my top????
Cheers,
Jed.
