32" 1080p for gaming - £250 'ish?

I had the sony, probably the best TV for gaming but don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as a monitor.

Luckily I was able to return mine within a month, and went for a 27" standard monitor which was much better

Size isn't everything ;)
 
I fully agree Glen.

My preference is a monitor but nothing at 1080p in the 32" market :(

Even considered a South Korean jobbie but seems too much of a gamble regarding faults/import tax etc.

I was settling for a TV has second best.

Maybe a 28" Monitor would be a better option after all.

Need good viewing angles though.

In what way is it not as good as a monitor.. a TN panel at that worst case scenario?
 
Couldn't quite put my finger on it, but my eyes were given a workout when gaming on it, plus you can see the pixels at 1080p on a 32"

When I swapped it for my samsung 27", it was like heaven

The absolute best would be a 27" 1440p

If I downsize to 28", I can save about £150 which for 4", is not much of a deal and gives no resolution problems.

I am worried about the scaling from the 1080p though?

The new display will be a secondary mirror of 1080p you see.

The bigger display is to make film watching and co-op games more pleasant :)
 
Oddly, I have the Iiyama in the house on another computer as a secondary mirror.

Is alright and would save me a ton of money.

4" is not that much to be fair.

I have been toying with a 40" TV but have serious doubts that a TV for PC gaming is asking for trouble from the information I can gather.

£180 for the 28" monitor but for less than £100 more for 40" and a 6 year warranty...

In the back of my head though, I have a imp saying "Do not get a TV, it will be ****".

What do the reviews say about that Panasonic TX?

Remember when buying online you have 7 days to inspect the goods then return for full refund (Dsr)

Gaming on my Samsung tv has been fine but maybe I just don't notice low refresh rate etc.

Would it still be wise to get a 28" monitor rather than 24" "ish" if you are sat 2-3ft away from it though?

If you are refering to 1080p, the lower the size the tighter the pixel density which at that distance would mean in theory a better perceived quality of image.

At that distance, if a bigger screen is needed, 1440p would be my recommendation if you can afford it from a performance standpoint.

My bad, forgot to say ile be using a xbox one. Guessing the OP would be using a PC
