Hmm just been looking at a certain 1000W psu on offer this week. Not so much the PSU but the bottom notes there:
- World's first PSU with a dedicated RAM power cable to support next generation 32-64GB RAM systems
I would assume that as these standards have already been set then there must be working models of this kind of ram etc. Anyone know anything about this? As in whats the technology behind it, when can we expect it, etc

if you have a motherboard like this you could accommodate 128GB PC667. I imagine it would use a lot of juice

The system I had on loan from work (Dell Precision 490) had such a cable. It supported only 32gb's only. Had 8 dimms sockets and used DDR2 FB-Dimms. Ran very hot and had an 80mm fan to cool the memory.

i could do with something like 64gigs of ram or more.
would love to use a ramdrive as a scratch drive for working on video edits etc. would be awsome.
