just found this out my self, well at least one of the difference's, 32 version will only reconise around 3.5gb of ram so if you want more then that its going to have to be 64
as for any other differences i don't know!
there are some finer points to it, there is a link kicking around, but essential the maximum 64bit can use is 128GB (i think). its all about running out of addresses for your memory.
"Exabytes"
Is that a real word? :|
Also 64-bit applications run faster than 32-bit versions of the same application is what I heard.
128GB?!
More like 17,179,869,184 GB or 16 Exabytes.![]()
didn't bother doing the maths, so just went did a quick Google of what vista 64bit can do.
I still don't have the bottle to make the jump to 64. Sure I bet all the programs I currently use will support 64-bit but who knows whether all future programs that I need will work fine as well
Are there any signs out there that some games won't work in 64-bit (especially older ones)?
my only quarm is no fully working mkv 64bit codec for 64bit media centre
for this reason i'm changing back to 32bit for the time being on my media centre pc
ALL my other software works fine
