Not 100% Sure yet, but I have been looking at two different models of Samsung 32" TV:

Samsung 32" LE32B450, £320, HD Ready (But no true HD)

Samsung 32" LE32B530, £375, True 1080p HD

I have looked at these in a couple of shops, and the LE32B450 generally looked better image quality wise, however I am told that 1080p is important to modern TV's.

So I have to ask:

1) Which of these is the better TV?
2) How important is 1080p, and is it worth the extra £55?
3) Are there any better TV's of a similar price range I should consider?

Thanks for any help ;)

Two questions that you'll inevitably get asked:

- how far away from the TV are you going to be sitting?
- how much blu-ray / 1080p content are you likely to be using?

If 90% of your viewing will be SD (which applies to 90% of the UK population at this time), then you may as well stick to the HD Ready screen, especially for such a small screen size.

However if you have an XBox that you intend to use frequently, then the Full HD screen may be the choice for you.

I shall be about 4 - 5' away from th TV, and will be using it for the 360, HD games but movie wise I will be watching DVD's.

LE32B550, you wont be dissapointed.

Had a look and reviews do make this sound very nice, good black levels etc, and it can be had for about £410, but is it worth the extra £90 it will cost me over the LE32B450? (I ask as I have of yet been unable to find a review for the LE32B450). It is a fair bit of money, but I will be using it for some time to come.

Also how does the LE32B551A compare to the LE32B450? As this can be had for around £380

Thanks again,

Hmm, well Having shopped around I have the following options:

LE32B450 - £319
LE32B530 - £356
LE32B550 - £385

Now its just deciding, the 450 seems good, but reviews suggest the 550 as being on of the best sub £400 TVs there is....

Ok, from the above advice I have had a look around and can get the PANASONIC TX-L32U10B for £370, however I can find no reviews on it. Does anyone know how it compares to the Samsung LE32B550?

Cheers,
