Is it possible to get a 32" telly, with HD, for near to £250? Would be for Sky+HD.

Is it worthwhile to get 1080p on such a screen size? Would it be noticable difference to "HD Ready" screens that only do 720p?

Appreciate any recommendations.

Hmm.
I've seen a few Toshibas doing the rounds recently at about £300.
For £250 You might be looking at an unbranded/oem one.

The Toshibas at the moment seem to have been popular at a few forums I visit and people seem happy with their purchases.

Also keep in mind that there is a certain high street store that states "never knowingly undersold" that give a 5 year warranty on all TV sets (I don't think I can name them as they have a PC/mac dept in the one here) but also ******** I think do a 5 year warranty (Who AFAIK don't sell PC stuff).

The one I can't name also price matches, I maanged to get a price match for my panasonic about a year ago and the store I pricematched with was at the other end of the country. They won't price match online stores only physical stores. I'm not sure on wether ******** will price match tho.

Might be worth using the price matching to your advantage.

EDIT: Store name temp blanked as Im not sure if I can name it reported FAO a mod

I expect I know who you mean anyway :) Thanks.

Toshiba's are popular, but I am likely looking at 300, not 250? OK I think I can work on a 300 expectation then.
What about the HD1080 question, is that feasible/worthwhile on a 32" tv?

I wouldn't be worried about 1080 on a 32".

If you aren't bothered about brand I picked up a 37" ispiRED (Sainsbury own brand type thing) 720P HDReady effort for about £280 a few months back and its lovely.

Slight thread hijack here, but I guess it is relevant seeing as the OP asked about 1080p.

I am also in the market for a 32" LCD but I will be plugging it into my computer also for work, internet, and whatever else takes my fancy. People always sat that 1080p isn't noticable, but would I be right in saying 1080p is much better for the computer as it will have a much higher resolution for the desktop?

Cheers in advance.

Stew.

Got the Regza. Good telly. Only rant was that HDMI on the Xbox was an annoyance and needed changing settings on my Xbox etc. All good now. Good picture, build quality etc.

Well we went along to a local friendly shop and they didnt have one on show, we were looking at a few and came within microns of buying the £600 samsung 1080, 3ms response etcetc... absolutely stunning.

But then we came to our senses. Walked out with a 32LG2100. Great picture, great sound, inputs are plenty and price was only a little over what we went out looking to spend.

V happy with purchase.

I have the Regaza 32", paid £279.99 from A*****.co.uk (think it is doing the rounds around quite a few places for between £289 and £299)

Very nice TV.
