Hi guys.

Im in the market for a new hd compatible tv. 32" ideally as my budget is < £1000.

Any ideas? Always been a fan of toshiba and panasonic.

Toshiba WLt 66 gets rave reviews atm wasnt available when i purchased mine
Im happy with my JVC (part owned by panasonic) LT32DX7BJ
The panasonics seemed to get mixed reviews when i was looking at them and a fair few people been happy with Lg and samsungs on this board, matter of personel taste and what you need it to do but i do recommend you have a good read over at www.avforums.com plenty of hands on opinions and reviews.

Goodluck finding the right one for yourself as its not that easy imo ;)

I am happy with my Sammy 32" that I got for around £800, but I would have got the above if it had been available for sub £1000 as it is now, its a very good set indeed

The Samsung R74 is highly praised here and on AVforums and the like. Its got a good feature set including integrated Freeview. It can be had for about £750 online and I spotted it in Selfridges for £999. In fact tomorrow I'm going to get a few prices from the shops on Tottenhan Court Road and see if I can get John Lewis to pricematch (they are doing it for £1049 if I remember correctly).

Samsung LE32R74BDX 32inch LCD TV

Recently bought one as a lot of people were raving about it, have to say im very impressed with it as well. I bought mine for just under £800 and ive just checked the place i ordered it from and its even gone lower in price.

Definitely a great screen though, my xbox360 looks lush on it.

Just had delivered today the LG 32LX2R.
What a TV, excellent quality, inputs for everything, DVI, component, SCART, HDMI.
Looks very cool with its black surround.

Picture quality is very good, only hooked it upto my xbox360 so far as im currently diy'in the living room so its going to be another month until i get it up on the wall.

but for £800 its a great tv.

Are there any problems with fast moving pictures on LCDs. I was having a chat with a friend who was convinced that football etc look poor on LCD TVs.

This is why I desperately want to hear back from BigChris, there's a lot of love for the 32WL66 on avforums, except for one guy who says the Toshiba is especially bad for blurring. Hmm...the A321 I had barely blurred at all.

Its come to my attention that the VGA on the 32WL66 is limited to 1024x768...think this could be a dealbreaker. Samsung LE32R74BDX is now looking like the front runner...still eager to hear about the Tosh though.

I'm after one too.

Been looking at the Samsung 32" LE32R74BDX/XEU Freeview HD Ready Widescreen IDTV

is this any good?

Excellent screen imho, i have one and cant say anything bad about it tbh. Although at the moment im only running my xbox360 through component on it but it does look very very nice...although a tad dark but i think thats down to the 360 doing that.

I've taken the plunge and ordered the Samsung - I was going to go for a bigger screen but finally decided that I'm going to be too close to the screen for anything bigger.

Should manage to get it all setup ready for world cup. :D

Do you mind saying where it was if its not a competitor?

I've seen it for 789 in an online store with a 'real' shop. Going to see if I can get my local John Lewis to price match it.

hiya all, thinking about going for the Samsung R7 myself. The prices do vary a lot!
My only concern at the moment is that there seems to be quite a few different versions, bordeaux etc and what is the difference between the R73 and R74? the specs look the same.

Anyway, anybody with an R7, i would appreciate any comments :p

just picked up a Toshiba 32WLT66 for my mum,

was very impressed with the picture you can get from a Std Def source,
it's one of the physically nicest looking displays IMHO

having 2 x HDMI is handy for Sky & DVD/console.

colour is great, makes a CRT TV look really grey.

I sat and watched golf just to look at the grass.... :D
