Hi, I've currently got a Dell 2005FPW, and I want a bigger monitor - but I dont want anything that has an insane resolution so my hardware has to be top of the range SLi or Crossfire.
After being on a Dell 2005fpw for a couple of years now, I find it impossible to go to a lower res now also! 1366X768 wont do!
So I was wondering, is there any 32" LCD TV's out there that can do the resolution of 1680X1050? I'm finding it impossible to find one, maybe because there isnt one?
Any help appreciated, if you find a smaller/larger screen with that resolution I would like to know also.

Don't knock it till you've tried it, I had the exact same monitor. I bought a 32"lcd and run my pc through it by dvi and loved it.Dell monitor was for sale the day after. My dell was awesome but the sheer size of the 32" edged it for me. If thats not for you just get another dell and dual display

That's because it's scaling. Gaming on a 32" LCD 1366x768 is great. As the poster said above 1680x1050 isn't 16:9, it's 16:10. You really don't want to buy a 16:10 TV, as it'll be used for movies so mess up aspect ratio.

Best you can get is 1920x1050, that's "1080p" spec. Or any decent CRT front projector, they have somewhere around 2000 scan lines!

Whats the equivalent res of a 16:9 lcd tv at around the 1680 resolution? That resolution really is the sweet spot for me, as I could use it for my pc then and gaming wouldnt cost an arm and a leg every 6 months also.

No its worse, having a screen a lot bigger that can fit even less into it.

For a PC monitor "all-day use" I agree, 1366x768 on a 32" is too low resolution, but for gaming and light windows use it's brilliant.

Decisions, decisions, I dont mind 1366X768 if im doing one thing at a time, but having my current monitor i've been accustomed to having 2/3/4 things at the same time, example is I watch pc one half, under that I might be playing pes and have msn open and say the other half is the internet, I dont think I could be doing just one thing at a time, with 1366X768 web browsing on 2 windows isnt really possible as the resolution is too small and one internet explorer bar will dominate the screen.

But I really want one because of the shear size, wow factor and gaming/movies & tv would be amazing on it.
