I currently have a 34" 3440x1440 monitor ( which is basically an extra wide 27" 2560x1440 monitor ) but I find that in windows the text is too small. It's constantly straining my eyes. I have tried using the Windows Scale but the problem is that it seems to mess up some games, so really I need a new monitor. I was thinking about replacing it with a 2560x1440. Obviously at 27" that would be the same so I was looking at 32". According to me that should be the same as using a Scale of approx 1.2, which should help a lot. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same issue?

I use 125% scaling on a 27" (2560x1440) and text feels the right size. Like you, at native resolution it causes far too much eyestrain.

I do prefer the higher quality text with windows scaling tho.
32" 4k @ 150% would be perfect, if a high refresh rate option ever gets released.

Well gotta say that the AOC Q3279VWFD8 (32" IPS 75hz) is fantastic as long as you don't need 100hz+. I've owned a few 60-75hz IPS panels an this is by far the quickest and the picture is solid too. My current sample has no yellow glow and no real light bleed at all. An absolute steal for the money this thing costs. Input lag is also about as low as you can go with a monitor which is verified by @PCM2's review on pcmonitors.info.

Got one of these too, far from an elite gamer, but really enjoy using it.

Mostly use for work/videos etc though, might be different if your primary use is gaming. Cost wise though, it was a steal. Think it's price has gone back up to original pricing now (£200 or so), but I had seen it as low as £150 at times.

Been playing a bit of CS:GO and my abilities how limited they may be hasn't gone down compared to playing on my 240hz 1080p TN. So for a casual scrub, I think most will be fine. I think most who try this monitor will be surprised at how well it performs considering it's only 75hz.

I also have this as my only and main monitor. Its awesome especially for the price. Come September it'll be hard to find a new replacement once ampire and RDNA2 are out lol. I also use 150% in Windows to help read the written stuff lol
