i'm putting together a new pc of which some of it i've bought on the mm

gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 M/B
E6400 CPU
4GB PC 6400 DDR11
ATI 3850 512mb graphics card
120 GB sata hd
i don't really understand what the difference is and was wondering which would be my best option :)

You will need vista 64-bit as you have 4GB ram, 32-bit operating systems can only see between 2.5GB and 3.5GB of ram. Also check that all your programs work on 64-bit, your best off telling us what programs you use and we can tell you which ones are good to go on vista, also check that all your hardware has 64-bit drivers like printers, bluetooth dongles ect. Generally nearly all programs accept ones which use 16bit installers will work.

I say go for Vista Home Premium 64-bit :).
