Just a question for a friend as I'm not sure.

Do you need to buy an upgrade? If so, where? I've searched the ms website..

Assuming this is Vista you just need to get hold of the 64bit media - the product key will work with both. Info here on obtaining the media from MS.

Ah right, limited to 32 bit. Not relevant to the OP then, sorry mate.

I went from 32 bit vista to 64 bit. But I just bought a copy of 64 bit vista. Still have 32 bit somewhere, did think of using Dual boot to get the 2 working, but 64 bit isworking so good, I don't see the point of using both now.

To get a 64bit version of the disk go to here. I think it has to be an upgrade or full version though. I don't think you can do it with a OEM version. I got a 32 bit disk of Home Premium upgrade before Christmas and sent off for the 64bit version. It took 2 weeks including the Christmas break and cost me £7.20 inc p&p. I got the latest version with SP1.
