I'm wanting to clock my E4500 to 3.2, currently at 3.0, I ca achieve 3.2 using 400*8, but my NB is WAY too hot, and I currently have no funds to replace the cooling.

Would running it at 320*10 (changing the memory multi to keep at same speed) perform any worse?

Thanks

The main benefit of 400x8 would be being able to run your memory at 1:1 at 800mhz.

Tho as mentioned above, the advantage would be minimal. What is the NB temp at at 400x8?

i noticed that on my e2180, the higher fsb performed better in Superpi although it was only marginal. can i ask...if your system is stable then why dont you want to keep it at the higher fsb?

Hitting 72c after only a few minutes of orthos, that's with all fans on full aswell.
