3200+ to a 4000+

if i upgrade a socket 939 amd athlon 3200+ to a 4000+ will i have to reformat? or should it recognise its just an upgrade?

Of course, may I ask why you are upgrading to a 4000?

Unless your using the stock cooler, no. Theres already some applied on the heatsink.

Yeh you will need to re-apply some if the heatsink is already used. If its brand new then it should be fine

Yup just a quick switch with no formats needed.

Just did it tonight on this machine. Nice price and a quick fix for now. All the bits from this machine go into my lower spec machine which is just a browser/workhorse machine while this one gets all the new Conroe bits
