Have finally decied on these CPU's (bargain :) ) Should I get:

-3000+ Venice

-3200+ Venice

I am looking for a good overclocker and am going to buy a DFI Lanparty Ultra-D. And am going to get a E3 stepping. Also, has anyone hit 3.0ghz on either of these chips on air?

3.0GHz isn't quite as easy with these. 2.8GHz is well in range if it's a good clocker.

I'd say you have better chances clocking the 3200+. :)

Couldn't get mine past 2.2....

Sold it and replaced it with the 4000+ OcUK are selling and 2.9 was no probs on stock volts.

Save up?

Had a Winnie 3200+ that would'nt do past 2.2Ghz stable as well, no vcore would break the wall, and it did 2.2 on 1.5v, i believe it was a first batch after the transition to .09, not board or memory limited etc.. replacement 3200+ Winnie a few months later did 2.5Ghz on stock, rofl.

Hmm.. wanna know something freaky? My postcount on this thread is 441, i was downloading a file of exactly 441Mb, and it was the 441th file in that folder.. no joke..

2.2! did i get a chip from a good batch then? its revision DH-E6

Keep in mind there have been quite a few good E6 clockers. An acquaintance's E6 has managed 2.7GHz 1.5V which isn't too bad at all for a 1.8GHz chip.

Got my 3000+ Venice on 1.63 volts @ 2565. The lack of a x10 multi has really annoyed me, so go with the 3200 to avoid being disappointed.

3000 Venice  2.8GHz on air temps, never any more then 45oc full load
