32bit drivers in 64bit OS

Ok guys

quick poll - who would suggest the usage of 32bit drivers in a 64bit OS (thinking Windows XP 64bit) if hardware manufacturer doesnt support / supply 64 bit drivers on our corporate desktops?

Personally wouldnt touch it with a bargepole but a developer has forced our hand without actually looking at the support issues involved

We arent touching Vista - and dont expect to do a roll out of Win 7 until mid next year at least ( or at least until SP1 is available)

Is driver issue a non -issue or is it something to avoid?

What I was suspecting thanks guys (for the swift responces)

I keep on telling them that XP64 wasnt ever fully supported but they still want to trial it

As soon as we can we are going to use Win 7 (in the IT department only) but for users we cant stop deploying XP
