Not got 'proper' vista yet, just had the download from microsoft before xmas (Beta).

Is ther any reason to go for 32bit over 64bit versions of vista (or vice versa).

Will be getting the Ultimate OEM version, and it wil have a overclocked E4300 @ 3ghz, 8800gtx and up to 4gb mem (Got 2 in the pc and another 2 sitting here, but could sell that on if not needed).

Does everything that works on 32bit work on 64bit?

Is 64bit faster / Slower?

Any difference in driver availability / Hardware compatibility?

ta!

There is slight driver probs, on 64 bit version, you can only use signed drivers, failing that you have to press f8 and turn of driver signing off. i havent heard of such probs on 32 bit.

As for speed wise , agian i think you need more mem to run 64 bit, and as for actual speed at the moment i think they are identicle, not much in it.

But saying that once 64 bit takes off properly and it will this time, it should be and i say should be faster.the difference this time, is that jardware venders have to release both 32 bit and 64 bit drivers at the same time to get the there drivers signed by microsoft, please correct if im wrong.
hope it helps.

I would say go for 64 bit if you have the hardware, that is the way oses in general are going.

So when do you hit F8?
when you turn on jsut after post, its the same menu as you would use to get into safe mode, there are other fixes for it, but not recomeneded, as this is not realy recomended, its used for testing purposing by devs. oe uss pees who have to use old drivers to get hardware working while we wait for new drivers.
hope it helps
