32bit or 64bit

My laptop has a Core Duo T2300 1.66Ghz and its 32bit because its Yonah ;)

The CPU has to explicitly state 'Core 2 Duo' before you can be positive thats its 64bit.

Aye it sucks :(

Its really difficult to be positive if a laptop is Core Duo or Core 2 Duo since the manufacturers seem to like omitting the '2'. On the plus side 64bit isn't really critical, and you'll probably be able to upgrade the CPU if you become desperate.

Not that hard to identify Core, or Core 2 in laptops.

Core, are all T2XXX series processors and are all 32bit
Core 2 Duo are T5xxx, and T7xxx and are 64bit.

The T5xxx are 2meg cache, with VT disabled on the T5500
The T7xxx are 4meg cache.

That would explain a lot! I thought the T was originally added to signify Merom :o
