I've been looking at the Linx 10 tablet, which uses a Intel Atom Z3735F. I'm on the fence about getting one as I think this has been out for a while, and considering that this is a quickly improving area for CPUs (and with skylake recently released) will a new generation of tablet-y atom CPUS be released soon? That will offer a decent perfomance jumo for this class...

I'd also be interested in the graphics performance too!

I got Linx 10 last November, amazing tablet with Windows 10. Linx 10 was launched on 25 September 2014 accorded to Amazon so it is a year old now.

Skylake Y Core M CPUs now available for tablets but they are very expensive around £600. Intel just launched Cherry Trail Atom x5 Z8300 based on 14nm Broadwell but CPU performance is same as Z3735F and GPU performance is twice faster than Z3735F in Windows 10. GPU core in Z3735F has 32 FP32 ALU cores, 4 EUs, 1 Subslice and supported DirectX 11 while Z8300 has 96 FP32 ALU cores, 12 EUs, 2 Subslices and supported DirectX 11.2.

I am doubtful whether there will be many cheap tablets with Cherry Trail Atom x5 Z8300 in next few months but Cherry Trail will be very short lived as it will be replaced by next generation Atom Broxton CPU in Q1 2016 based on 14nm Skylake, it will have improved cores, GPU will have 96 FP32 ALU cores, 12 EUs, 3 Subslices and supported DirectX 12 feature level 12_1.

I will wait for next generation Linx 10 tablet with Atom Broxton CPU and hopefully 1080p screen and 64GB eMMC. :D
