Hi, I just picked up an AMD 5800x (as i could not wait for the 5900x) and an MSI 570 tomahawk mobo. I bought the ram pretty blindly after watching a memory video saying all 32gb 2 stick packs aside from some high end corsair was dual rank.
however........... this is single rank stuff. It is too late to return now really, so i guess i am stuck with it.
most of the benchmarks which show and noticable difference are at 1080p, i plan to game mostly at 4k - possibly dropping to QHD with DLSS for rtx games. (once i upgrade my 1080ti)
1) Am i right in saying the differences in performance between single and dual rank drops once you get to 4k (ie i need not worry too much) I only need a solid 60fps.
2) As one of the benefits of single rank over dual rank is easier overclocking...... if i was to stretch the legs of my ram a bit, what you be more benificial, cutting latancy to C16, or pushing the clock speed.
many thanks
M.
