OCUK mighty people save me :( I need to get this working before tomorrow!!

I bought a 32GB flash drive (i cant say what make as its a competitor...but i have searched for any software/drivers for it and come up with none).
Windows 7 64bit fully updated
Gigabyte ga-m720-us3 mobo - as far as i can tell its up to date as possible

Ive been able to try it on a wide selection of laptops running windows 7 - all work perfectly.
Tried it on windows XP PC - look in my computer and all looks good, finishes installing and issues below happen.

So my PC:
Plug it in, installs driver. and appear in my computer and the fun starts:
double click - "removable disk (K: )" error message "please insert a disk into removable disk (K: )" (the icon then goes shaded.)
The pen drive itself is fine on all others after trying various tools on it (its no fake from what i can tell..formated it, random usb tools, all good).

What i have tried:
windows updates/drivers/disk management/formatting/command line options/bios settings/deleting a few registry files.

Things im about to try as i wait for wonderful replies:
Windows DVD in pc and try it...maybe try booting from it or access it before windows.
Try on my other PC and games consoles/dvd players see if it works.
Test other usb flash drives on offending PC (ones i have tried have worked - but have found none over 2GB yet.

My mum is wanting one, and it works on her laptop - so happy mothers day if no fix. But i dont want to then buy another (more expensive/reliable/well known) pen drive to find out its an issue with 32GB or something stupid.

:(

FAT32

Tried a few 4GB drives working fine on my pc.
Just tried 32gb on another laptop..working fine...

On boot up the flash drive can be seen in the BIOS... :(

I know sometimes although only some hard drives I have some do not pop up on the screen when plugged in, the way for me to get them to appear is to go into Control panel> Administrative tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management "then it should show up" > right click on the Disk 0, 1 , 2 etc then import foreign Objects "I think!" and should make it appear.

Try that see if it works?

Kenneth

Nope no luck, picture below.

This is reminding me of my printer and its memory card (?) slots...plug printer in and it adds a drive/disk on my computer, double click on it when nothing is in it and it asks "to insert" a disk...

The reason smaller drives work and not your big flash drive is there appears to be a 32Gb limit when using the FAT32 file system with XP, see here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314463

urgh sorry i didnt explain it well lookign back
I tried it on family PC (win xp)
My PC is windows 7 (with SP1) - 64bit
