Hi all, I have a pretty annoying problem.

When gaming on any game where my fps drops to 80 ish fps my game feels like it’s at 20fps, it’s like my mouse is in treacle and the screen goes stuttery when I pan the mouse. If I use my lg55” nano ips tv downstairs it doesn’t do this at all even at 40fps ultra settings.
I changed my mouse to a razor death adder v2.

I could think it was hardware related but why does it work on my tv perfectly fine?

What's your GPU?
Sorry Should have added more to the op, but it’s a 3060ti and I have a ryzen 3700x on a x570 msi a-pro motherboard and Corsair vengeance 3600mhz ram that’s running at 3200mhz or 3600mhz makes no difference.

Games are all on ssd’s or a 1tb 980pro nvme drive.

Tried all nvidia settings 1 at a time enabling and disabling everything, gsync off and on, tried all the settings on the monitor off and on or up and down, nothing makes any real difference so I just leave gsync on and black contrast to 50.

Tried polling rate on 125/500/1000 but makes no difference either.

Tried an older none mechanical keyboard. All the same results, jerky when panning around as if my gpu or cpu are struggling when most of the time there not even close to being maxed out at 1440p resolution.

If I set everything to low settings it’s fine as I am maninly at 140fps so it’s super smooth.

I’d rather play at 60 to 80 fps with eye candy higher but 80 fps is barely playable.

It’s worse when i disable gsync, I tried hdmi and dispalyport I’d say it’s a little worse when using hdmi on the monitor, but the tv uses hdmi and it’s perfect even at 4k and 40fps.

I had a thing with PUBG where for some reason it just went to 60hz and felt like utter crap. I’m kind of amazed how used to frames I’ve become. Anyway, I went to the desktop and changed the refresh back to 160hz and all was good again.

Maybe check your refresh rate. I’m thinking it’s so obvious it might have been overlooked. I was doing all sorts of stuff before thinking of that.
