Hi all,

Looking at getting a new monitor. The wishlist is as follows:

  • 32inch
  • QHD / 1440p
  • High refresh rate (144Hz?)
  • Freesync implementation that works over both Displayport and HDMI (HDMI for the Xbox One X)
Not too fussed on ultrawide, with my desk where it is I wouldnt be able to fit it with my speakers where they are now anyway.

HDR certification is a nice to have but definitely not an essential.

Budget, I guess somewhere around the £400 mark? That's where I'm seeing some options from Hanspree, AOC, Benq etc, but I'm struggling to find many comprehensive written reviews of them as many of these seem to be quite new to the market.

Any suggestions?

I can personally recommend this monitor, the LG 32GK850F. It is over your £400 budget though. Plenty of reviews available for the LG 32GK850F too. HDR400 is not worth the effort (in my opinion a pointless certification). Freesync 2 on this monitor and silky smooth. I am running a Radeon 7 so getting some very good frames. I went from a BenQ 1080p 144Hz monitor and the difference is striking.

What monitor are you going from and what GPU are you running?

At the moment, an AOC Q3279VWF. Nothing wrong with it really, but I'd like something with a higher refresh rate and with better response times - the ghosting is sometimes noticeable, and the overdrive isn't amazing.

Graphics card is a Sapphire Vega 56 Pulse.

That LG does look nice and I'm in no rush, I can wait for a good deal.

Used to have the Sapphire Vega 56 Pulse. Excellent card.
Took me a while (months), reading reviews and posts in here to make up my mind with the LG. Best of luck with the search.
