I've been having a mess around with my cpu & bios settings

Not a great overall clock speed i know :(

Got my FSB/HTT to 335x8 using 1.5v. Don't think it's going to go much further ,quite happy getting it to 335 though.

Ram on a 133 divider @ 223Mhz 2.5-3-2-5

May go a bit further with a tweak or two,suggestions welcome


Not primed it yet,but it has been stable whilst gaming,vid encoding etc for the last few days

was running 300x9 but needed more volts(1.6v) 1.57 in bios

Cpu will boot between 2.8 & 2.9 but can't get it stable,without mad volts,crap stepping :(

Temps are ok as you can see ,load temps are around 40C with an X1900XT@760/825 in the loop

no point in having a high htt speed. your better off running the highest cpu multi you got and try and attain the highest base speed.
no point showing off with 335htt cuz there people here using cheapo 40 quid asrock boards and doing over 400htt. :p

Dont rise to it Rob, good clocking mobo you have there. many seem to struggle above 300 these days. the dfi's esp

just take pride in the fact you arent boasting about 4 gb ram (when he still had a bad gfx card it was so funny, think everyone laughed at him). :)
 
you need to find what gives most clock speed and ram speed. Or the best comprimise between them. Cpu speed is more important than ram speed. High HTT is pretty irrelevant UNLESS it means you get the best balance of cpu and ram speed. :)
 
Yeah mate,i was just having a mess about in the bios to see what it would do,ram seems to be hitting only about 225 max though
 
yea ive done the same before, i got my ultra-d to run 450fsb and it primed for 9hrs or so then i stopped it and the pc locked! It was completely responsive until the time i stopped prime..... v strange :p

I can't recall a c-m post that isn't full of half baked opinions and general nonsense.. and woe betide you if you're stupid enough to buy a 7900 series gfx card because he WILL tell you its going to break.

Man I wish I had 4gb.. everything would be fine if I had 4gb lol

Anyway Rob, how old is your 4400? Mine topped out at 2.7 and I struggled to get it to 3ghz even under a chilly1.. might be worth trying to hoover up an x2 3800 in the MM, later chips (feb onwards) often when hammering past 2.8, I even had one over 3ghz in a shuttle.

It's only a couple of months old mate,may try the 3800+ option that you suggest though ;)

Just a bit fed up that i can't get past 2.7Ghz stable,under decent water :(

Can't remember the stepping off hand,but it's not the best
