3440x1440 res how hard is it run ?

I'm looking at the new acer monitor that does 3440x1440@ 100hz but also has g sync. It is meant to be released in September and I cant wait :D

I currently have a titan x that can clock very well on water would this be enough to range from 60-100 fps with low aa max settings on triple A titles or will I need a second ?

Any user experiences would be great thanks.

you don't need/require 100+ fps with a 100hz monitor lol.
It just refreshes at 100Hz so he can see upto 100FPS so you can see 40 more FPS than a 60Hz monitor which makes it look smoother.

@OP a single Titan x with a decent OC should be more than capable of that at 1440p yes!

You probably wont be getting around the 100FPS area with most games but around the 60 - 80 ish FPS area at 1440p max settings with some mild AA
 
I think I'd be more worried about buying an Acer monitor.

Isn't it also rumoured to cost just under £1000?

It's not 1440p, it's ultra wide. 1440p = 3.67 million pixels. This is 3440x1440 ultrawide = 4.96 million pixels, substantial jump though still considerably less than 4k at 8.3 million pixels. In essence though, what you've said isn't wrong - the titan should be fine with it.
Look at 1440p benches and take off like 25-30%. Or look at 4k benches and add on like 60% and you'll get some rough ideas of where your performance will lie.

You do need 100hz really as there is no point buying a 100hz monitor if it can't run at that speed. Also you are clearly confusing a 1440p monitor with this ultra wide monitor that has more in common with 4k than 1440p.

I would say one titan x is not enough to maintain 100hz btw.
 
i think a titan x would be perfect for 3440x1440, i had a single 290 that done ok at this res, cant say what sort of fps your going to get as ive never had a titan x

Yes i didn't see it was ultra wide! However as soon as your driving above 60 FPS your benefitting. You dont need to be driving up to 100FPS to benefit at all or getting constant FPS up near 100 above 60FPS your benefitting.

70 FPS your getting 10 whole frames per second more than a 60hz monitor and it will be smoother! upto 80-90FPS is where you would notice the smoothness. IMO the smoothness noticeability starts to drop off after 90 FPS

You can still notice the smoothness after 90FPS to 144Hz but just not as much as the jump from 60 to 90FPS

So yes you dont need a 100FPS at all.

I assume you dont have a high refresh rate monitor or you would have experienced this your self!
 
I've tried many screens 60-144he ips pls tn I know I can go back to tn or 60hz so this is then only thing that suites my needs as such.

has and only got this res and run with a titan X ?

hopefully gwynedd should make the difference when I get lower frame rate on one card kinda making the second card unless obviously I don't want two titan xs if I do think need too
