Hi,

A friends PC is freezing randomly, I asked him to check the voltage using CPU-Z and HWMonitor and both are reporting it as 0.96v.

Am I correct in thinking the default voltage is 1.128v?

Thanks

The voltage being reported is the idle voltage.
Put some load on the CPU and you will then see the voltage increase.

PC freezing could be a few things.

I'd first check the RAM using memtest and/or 1 stick in the motherboard. If freezing persists, use the other stick.

Memtest passed, Prime 95 ran for 9 hours fine.

Memory voltages are all ok.

Only thing reported in the error log is a kernel power issue and after researching this people suggested checking the voltages.

I am going to be able to get my hands on it this weekend but at the moment I am trying to remotely figure it out.

I had not thought about taking one stick of ram out, although if the memory has passed memtest I would assume this isn't an issue?
