Can anyone enlighten me on this monitor - is it an upgrade to the 34UM95 or not? If it is an upgrade to that, what has been changed?

I'm thinking this monitor plus a 1080 could be a winning combo. If only it had G-SYNC or 120hz.

It looks broadly the same. Only vanilla 60Hz so hardly a winning combo with 1080... you ideally want G-Sync and more Hz as you say... X34 is a better choice, albeit more expensive.

The Iiyama is largely the same as the LG, and probably identical panel, although it may have Freesync... not that this matters as it doesn't work with Nvidia cards.
 
Thanks both. I think the Iiyama goes to 75hz. I mostly play flight sims so 120hz not so necessary.

Edit: I forgot to mention I don't want a curved screen as it's primarily for gaming but also photo editing etc.
