Hi guys,

Basically my laptop broke down on me and I want to build a new rig for a decent price with the intention of upgrading it every so often.

As stated I have around 350 although I can go a little over/under

I will be using it for everyday stuff and some moderate gaming, nothing too fancy though!

I already have a mouse, keyboard, monitor and operating system.

CPU can be upgraded all the way through to an i7 (non-K). And 500w (with 480w on single 12v rail) would give you some decent GPU upgrade options.

500GB HDD to save a few pennies, as long as you don't need a 1TB just now.

No need for aftermarket cooler with Intel non-K chips.

Try a build with an Athlon 750K and a GTX 750 for that budget. See what you come up with.

The processor in the Kaveri is basically the same, with slightly faster turbo speed on the Athlon.

You end up with better performance overall (including GDDR5 memory). Only thing is it's not as upgradable as an Intel.

You mean product list? Hmm, best to get hold of something with a larger screen if you can, to have a better look at stuff before pulling trigger. Because the lists are already in this thread.
