it would do just pointing out semprons arent very good budget chips anymore what with AMD are being forced to cut their prices so much on the mainline athlons anyways

I love the Linux idea its all free and well and works with everything. But dam does it take ages to get a usb modem working and broadband. Took me like a week to get connected using some program that was free that "everyone used"
Linux is a bugger with USB modems so *Beware*
But yeah linux can do everything windows can now except play games. But officework= a free download of that thing that can open MS WORD docs ect.

You say he will be doing office work. Have you thought about where you are gonna get MS Office from? or do you aleady have it :) If you need a copy Email/Pm me and i might be able to send you a copy off of my dads work :) ;)
