What do you primary use your pc for?

I really wish people would say because otherwise, i could spec you a nice fast CPU and a 50 quid graphics card, thats the only reason i ask.

CPU = Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Graphics Card = Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI

O/S = Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM - 1Pk

Total : £337.48

A 6300/6320 and the cheapest 8800GTS you can find.

Fo gaming, the graphics card is by far the most important thing. Buying a 6600 will probably only get you an extra 400Mhz or so over a 6300 (when both are overclocked). This will make next to no difference in games.

Getting an 8800 instead of an X1950 will give you a much bigger boost in games.

You'll want to look into a decent CPU cooler too. I'd recommend a Thermalright Ultra 120 and a decent 120mm fan.

The above assumes that you can indeed get Vista for free as eracer2006 says.

Anybody know anything about this?

Most Uni's sign up to the microsoft academic alliance, allows you to download lots of software for free.

Where i go can't do it due to technicality (do a uni course on local college campus, College and Uni are signed up but the seperate Uni @ college arn't :( )
