~£350 upgrade on 2008 PC

Sorry to bump a slightly ageing thread, but I've found out it's the Corsair HX 520W PSU I have - will this be sufficient?

Also, if anyone could advise on a good bang-for-buck graphics card, that'd be great.

What else have you decided on?

How much do you have to spend on a Gpu?

The HX 520W is a good unit, so should be ok.

Around £100-£150. I was considering the 6870, which can be got for £60, but was thinking it's a bit old now? Also thought the 7790 could be a better investment? Thanks

This Gpu falls in your budget.

If you can pick up a second hand 2500k, then you have yourself a great little system.

Thanks for that. How much does the 2gb make over the 1gb? I'd probably use a few of the free games, but would it be possible to sell the others independently, or is it just one code? If so - for how much?

I was considering the MSI AMD Radeon 7850 1GB - £119 and comes with BioShock Infinite, Tomb Raider & FarCry 3 BD.

The games will all have individual codes. Even if you only get about £60-70, the HIS card will only have cost you about a £100. Bargain, don`t you think. You get a decent card and save £50-60 towards your Cpu.
A 2GB card will give you a better gaming experience than a 1GB.

That is tempting. I've just looked at the completed listings on ebay, it seems those games would get around £70 at a conservative estimate.

I've noticed the bundle is set as 'ETA: Overdue' - what is the precise meaning of this? Do I have to 'add it to my cart' before buying the card or do I just buy the card and it'll come with the code? Thanks.

Have checked - it is in stock, but I've hesitated. You can get the 7850 for **pricing not of OcUk ** with Bioshock, Tomb Raider & FarCry. I'm slightly concerned the 8 games from OCUK will depreciate rapidly with the impending Steam Summer Sale.

Trinity & Richmond are the best APU's on the market. You can run BF3, Crysis and other games on mid-high settings, with great frame rates. Providing you get nice fast RAM, 2133/2400, you will get good results.

Check out YouTube/Google Video's for some examples and yes, you wouldn't need a dedicated graphics card, but you could hybrid-crossfire.

What PSU do you have?
