If I run this at 2400MHz that would be equivalent to a 3800+ yes?

Would this be fairly safe under stock voltage etc. ?

I'll probably be adding an 80mm case fan in my side panel to give it a better cold air supply soon as well...

a) the L1 cache of a 3800+
b) whether you can make ** chip stable when u overclock it

If understock volts then yes it would be fine, I dont see why not..if you need to increase volts just dont go too mad....

Just watch the temps and you will be fine. Ideally you want that running 50c or below under max load.

... Would 60c at full load (stock speed) be a bad thing then? :p

pfffft... i'm not spending money on it.

I'll be getting the extra 80mm anyway, we'll see what that does to the temperatures.

Yeah suppose stick it nice and close, also try reseating the heatsink if temps continue.

Um how many and what size fans have you got in there atm?

Got the stock HSF on the CPU, a 120mm Akasa extracting air at the back and a 120mm CoolerMaster Injecting air at the front plus whatever it is lurking in my Tagan 480W.
