350D Question

I have a 350D with a 1GB CF card, and have the camera set to JPEG L Fine, on the display the camera tells me when the card is empty I should get 239 shots.

However last night I took 403 and it still said I had 40 remaining, I've checked the shots and they are all 3456 x 2304. When I take the shots the counter only goes down every 2 shots I take.

Whats going on?

those figures are only approximate, i get loads more shots on average ...

Same with my nikon D50, i shoot in raw + basic jpeg, I have a 1gig card and its says I can get 121 shots when I first put the card in. Always fit more than that on it

Yeah as said I think the camera takes an average sized photo and tells you how many would be left if every shot was that size, but as you properly know when you take photos they are all different sizes then sometimes you will be able to get more.
