I'm using my old case for my new rig, I'm wondering if I should invest in a new PSU or whether my trusty 350w antec can still cut it.

My new rig is an opteron 146 (which will be overclocked), 1gig ram, DFI lanparty mobo. SATA Hard drive, ATI 850xt, and dvd writer. I know that these antec PSUs are touted as excellent beasts, but do you think I could do with a new higher rated one to cope with the power hungry stuff above? I remember a site that used to give you an estimation as what wattage is advised for your PSU, does anyone have the link to hand? Cheers.

Hi bud, its about two years old.

I just used that page, quoted at 293w. Think I will give it a go and see how I get on. :)

Wattage is enough. But because its ATX version 1.3 (right?) you'll encounter some compatibility issues such as single & or low +12V Rail & 20-pin instead of 24-pin (which the mobo might be?). The latter can easily be resolved with this adapter. As for the +12V Rail it cannot. Ideally it should be split (i.e. +12V1, +12V2, etc) & or above 18A :(
