Hi, I made a thread about my 3570k onboard graphics in the graphics cards section but got no responses there, and since I've got newer problems since the original post, maybe I should post here instead (the hd 4000 isn't a graphics card anyway).

I've been having a lot of problems with the integrated graphics. At first I thought I had solved all my issues by setting the graphics RAM to 1.7gb in the bios, but it's been a week since then and all of my problems have basically resurfaced. I'm getting random artifacts in halo 1 again, and now even regular framerate drops which is actually new. I'm still getting problems with a certain part of Halo 1, and texture(?) artifacts in Halo 2.

I ran 3dmark11 a few days ago without problems but the sudden drop in performance of Halo 1, with increased number of artifacts, prompted me to run it again. All of a sudden my pmark dropped from 875 (an average of 2 perfect runs) to 740 (again an average of 2 runs) in the space of less than a week. Also 3dmark11 is artifacting like mad again despite 1.7gb of vram.

The temps seem to be fine, and my system RAM is without problems, so I don't know what's going on. More than 50% of my games and also 3dmark11 aren't running like they're supposed to, nothing is overheating... someone please please help :s

I dont have any solutions just some observations.
Firstly although our HD4000 supports DX 11 I would treat it more as a DX 10 part. I think 3D Mark Vantage is more in its league really. I ran it today without probs.

Halo 1 is very old, unless its been re-issued for Aniversry like Xbox. Is it Ok with Windows 7 ?

1.7GB seems very large for IGP. I haven't touched that setting so I'm still on 256MB (which grows on demand I hope) Otherwise 512MB should suffice I would have thought for an IGP.

I'm running mine at 1.25GHz (i.e. +100Mhz) with no increase in IGP volts. Any higher I would expect you would have to, to avoid artefacts.

Make sure you download the driver from Intel http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...uctProduct=Intel®+Desktop+Board+DZ77RE-75Keng

Maybe download the DirextX runtime from Microsoft?

Thanks for replying.

Thing is my HD 4000 has noticeably (this means ingame) slowed down, and I've had a benchmark drop from quite above average to below average (the 3dmark site now gives me a message saying I should be getting a higher score for my system). Halo multiplayer has gone from completely smooth and flawless to laggy, with textures flashing white occasionally. I'd let it pass if it had been like that from the start but that isn't the case. Halo 1 should also be fine on Windows 7, so the weird reflections on the bridge shouldn't be there. and Halo 2 shouldn't really have problems either.

Anyway I've now cycled through options in the graphics options, in BIOS, and I've also reinstalled windows 7. The performance drop and bugginess seems to be a permanent change...

Edit: I've reset the BIOS again and reseated the RAM. I still get a below average p score and "It looks like your PC should score better", as well as artefacting and lag ingame. Return my processor? :/
