Got my new rig up and running. Spec is the Following:

Intel 3570k.
Asrock Z77 Extreme4.
Enermax ETS T40 + Artic MX4 TIM.
8GB Corsair Vengeance.
Antec True Power 750w PSU.
Kingston SSD.
Samsung DVD Drive.
Zalman Z11 Case.

All cables are well hidden and apart from heat when overclocking it runs flawlessly.

What I find using Intel Burn Test on Very High on 5 runs I get the following:

- Totally standard clock - 3400mhz - 1.175v - max temp 63'c on one core.
- Load optimized CPU overclock in UEFI - 4200mhz - 1.3110v - max temp 92'c
- And again the same at - 4400mhz - 1.3375v - max temp 101'C!!!! I quickly stopped this test though.
- However running OCCT - I get temps a lot lower - IBT obviously really stresses the CPU.
- UEFI 4600mhz overclock was unstable from boot with ten seconds of desktop before blue screening.

Ive tried reseating the Heatsink with less thermal paste with the same results.
I havent tried a manual overclock as im pretty new to this - was just hoping to get the preset ones running with no problems.

Any ideas chaps?

Cheers

Don't worry its normal, IBT runs your CPU VERY VERY HOT! Im on watercooling and on IBT at 4.7ghz with 1.4v im touching 98c lol. If you want to run IBT make sure you have sufficient cooling available. You may need a better cpu cooler for anything above 4.4ghz if you want to run IBT that is. Otherwise just run another program for stress testing like prime95 which doesn't create so much heat.
