Essentially my problem is that my 3570k according to cpu-Z and realtempGT is underclocking at 2400mhz and there is nothing I can do to get it even to run at stock settings. I've set the bios settings to default, tried clearing cmos and finally updated my bios to the latest version, none of which work. When I open the bios it claims the processor is running at the right frequency and no settings are a miss so what's going on here? I ran some tests recently in Vanquish and sure enough my cpu performance in comparison to others with similar hardware was lower than expected,

It's an issue with intel speedstep I disabled speedstep and it's going up to 3.8 where it should be. The only problem is that I want to run speedstep so what settings ect are causing speestep not to step up past 2.4?

Okay so I notice when I turn the speestep back on my DRAM also drops to 800mhz what would effect the multiplier and the dram when speedstep is enabled. I'm so worried about this, why has no one had this problem before? :(

My next question is is it worth it to just forget intel speedstep, clearly something is wrong with mine because it doesn't go down and idle at 1.6 it stays at 2.4 all the time when speedstep is enabled.. Should I just forget about it?

Cheers for all the help guys I managed to get this fixed it was some obscure setting in my bios I'd somehow missed when I was resetting them all.. I got it though it's all running smoothly with speedstep enabled now :)
