I have i5 3570K with Gigabyte Z77 D3H motherboard which I use to play games like Call Of Duty and GTA V but was wondering is it worth the upgrade to 3770K for £50 more if I sell my current CPU?

Does it matter whether the chip is Malay or Costa Rica for better overclock?

Depends what your requirements are and that is what I call scope shift. ;)

You asked

To which the answer is yes. As Steveocee said the extra threads help with rendering, streaming and in some games too like Crysis, Battlefield or whether you have a SLI setup.

If you are looking for a chip that gives better overclocks then that is all part of the silicon lottery. If you search 3770K and 8Pack you will be able to find what batches are the best.

Entirely dependent on your use, it is worth it in general, but unless you are doing CPU intensive tasks like video editing I wouldn't bother.

For gaming, yes you would see a difference, but you would probably benefit more by investing the money in a GPU upgrade.

yes if you will use the extra threads. if for just games no
if you sold your CPU you could get a NEW i5 6400 for about £50 extra. now that would be a massive upgrade

What GPU do you have

I've looked at 2500k to 3770k and given the prices that are being asked 2nd hand I can't see that it is worth it. I think I'll just have to wait until the end of next year and do the big upgrade then.

I have Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X graphics card and the computer is used for university such as word processing, a little bit of VMWare, Photoshop and video editing as well as gaming in my free time however I don't intend to upgrade my system except from the graphics card in 5-10 years time.
