360 3 red ring warrenty ?

Quick question, bought my Elite 8th Dec 2007, turned it on this morning to stream some films from the PC and got the 3 RROD

When the warrenty was extended to 3 years did that include the orignal 1 year or is it on top of it ?

If it's 3 years from date of purchase then i'm out of luck on a free repair, is that looking like the case ?

plus i can't locate my reciept now, sure its in the house somewhere but what a mare it would be to find that

Correct, and if within it, you get it repaired once free of cost, after you pay for it if it happens agian

Surely you have got 6 months left in your 3 yrs warranty?

Go to Xbox.com, register your console, then request a repair.

I had mine repaired, it was 2months out of warranty but they offered to repair it

so will it not matter if i can't find my reciept as long as i register it ?

You don't need the receipt, just register the serial number to yourself with a correct address. Then report the issue, MS will email you and give you details to ship the box to them (free), and they'll repair it.

Does it RROD very often? Or was it a one off?

It's been "acting funny" over the last week or so but this morning was the first time 3 red rings, unplugged it dusted off checked PSU etc and it still does it..

Spooky thing was my m8 was saying last night on vent that it's only a matter of time before it dies

I owe him a few diggs for jinxing me so soon..

Will do as you suggest DaveyD, thx for the advice etc..
