360 Achievements Question

Hey guys, I recovered one of my friends gamertags on my 360 a few days ago so we could take the 360 up to another friends house (not connected to the net here) to play some guitar hero

My gamertag and my friends both signed in ok on the guitars and we spent all night playin co-op and face off etc. We unlocked a few achievements like 8x multi in co-op, 200k pair etc and they showed on both our gamertags

Since then my friend has recovered his gamertag on his 360 but the achievements we unlocked have dissapeared??? Mine are still there on my gamertag though

As far as i'm aware the achievements are tied to your gamertag and not the saved game file or the console etc???

Any idea's whats going off?

It's because he recovered his tag again. He should have just connected to live via the tag he had from when you were playing GH2.

If he got the achievements but hadnt connected to live with the profile to update it with new achievements - then when he recovered again he is getting older info - if you get what i mean.

If you still have his profile on yours with the achievements either whack it on a mem card or try and connect online to update the ms database with the new points

I tried to login with his gamertag last night after he'd recovered it on his 360 but it moaned about xbox Live details being incorrect or somethin (didnt really pay much attention)

I'll have another go tonight though. Recovering his profile again wont do any good because it will just be the old version he's allready recovered on his

I don' think the tag with the GH achs on will work on live now. I downloaded my profile again to my 2nd 360 meaning I had the same profile but twice. When I went on my other 360 and tried to connect to live it came up with an error.

I think it's something Microsoft have incorporated to try and stop profile trading. Meaning everytime you recover your tag it has a unique ID attached to it. Meaning if you try to log in with a previous tag your unable to.

What I've done is got a memory card and stuck my tag on that so I simply take my card and put it in whichever 360 I'm using.

Where he has retrieved it - it will have a new id thing or something meaning your version is corrupt

Will have to re-achieve
