360 and a usb headset

hey guys, does anyone know if the above combo would work, i got a friend who got the core version and hes wanting to know if a usb headset would work

Nope.

Only headsets that will work are headsets that plug into the controller (until the MS wifi headset is released anyway....)

The XBOX360, like other consoles, is a closed system. Only hardware Microsoft wants to work with it is written into it's core firmware.
