Hiya

I've just got Hitman for my Xbox 360 and when I try and start the game I get a message saying that the game does not support PAL-50 so please change it to PAL-60 in the display settings.

I have been into the display settings and I cannot find anything to do with this there. I am running the 360 through my 17" Viewsonic TFT via the official Xbox VGA lead.

Thanks
Tom

I have the component cable that came with the Xbox Premium? Do I need to connect it via that, change it to PAL-60 then revert back to normal?

Cheers
Tom

is there a switch on the cable to switch it to composite (my joyteq cable has component and composite connectors, ) then go to display, change it to pal 60, flick the cable back to HD mode and hopefully you should be away

No such thing PAL on PC screens.

Hmm, so what is preventing my from playing Hitman on my TFT?

I'm itching to do some murdering on a quiet Sunday afternoon so all help appreciated.:)

Cheers fellas for the help so far.

Tom

I don't know, it's an odd problem, any PC monitor can handle 50 or 60Hz signals and PAL/NTSC classifications don't exist. Seems like a bug as everything via VGA should be at 60Hz.

I had this come up when attempting to play something on Arcade.

You need to plug the original cable that came with your Xbox in and stick it on the TV. Then you will find a setting for PAL, 50 or 60Hz. In my case I had to change the little switch from HDTV to SDTV on the component connector to make the option appear.

Its an issue that some games have, they seem to pick up on what the console is set to regardless of what connection you are using. Some games also have a disclaimer on the box indicating they only work in PAL60.

Just set it to PAL60 and you shouldnt be troubled again :)

What if your using a VGA cable like myself.. there isnt a Hz setting.. even though my LCD does 60hz and 50hz.. Im assuming they just couldnt be botherd to sort it for that.

Still happens AFAIK. As I said, some games pick up on the consoles settings regardless of what connection you use.

Is this the new one Blood Money, if so whats everyone think of it who's got it, been umming an arring about wether to pick it up or not, it does look good. :)

Found the big thread so read that, sounds interesting. :p

It's the same thing. The game seems to query the frequency of your PAL setting (even though it's hidden in the dashboard if you use anything other than composite/s-video).
