360 and reading disk?

hi

ive had a couple of unable to read disk while playing pga tour 08 , which is anoying , would just like to know if this problem has possibly been fixed on the xbox elite?

I had it on my old 360 premium. I think it's the disk personally. Decent game let down by bugs. It went back to the shop!

My first two 360 premiums both had samsung dvd drives, and both suffered from disc read errors mid game, across multiple games. Not had the issue on my current premium and elite *touch wood* but they are both Hitachi...

Pop to 360drives there is a picture for checking which you have there...

Appears as though even recently built premiums only have Samsung and Hitachi, though there are two BenQ entries listed under "Premium, PAL", they could be false. All Elites have either Hitachi or BenQ. Two we had at work, built on the same day, same team and lot numbers, yet one had BenQ and one had Hitachi, so its difficult to see whats in there without popping the front of and looking at the tray. I had the Hitachi, mate had the BenQ and we sat them side by side.
Though if you go the Elite route, there is nothing wrong with either, BenQ's are slightly quieter though the difference is negligible.
