So my old core system kicked the bucket a little while ago and I treated myself to a brand new Arcade... I just popped my old hard drive in there and away I went. However, now when I start a game I have to choose which memory device to use where normally most games remember the setting and just load from the HDD.

For example Halo 3, when I used to start it up it would just just goto the main screen, now it always comes up with the dialogue asking me which memory i want to use.

It's a little annoying, is there a way to hide/disable/default it away or something?

This is how it's always been if you have more than one storage device attached, be it HDD, MU or internal storage. Some games will attempt to detect that you have a save on one and not the other, but most will just ask at start up.

It's one of the Microsoft certification checks to never be able to save to a storage device without asking which one. Most developers tend to take the quick route of asking every time the game boots.

Hmm not sure how... but maybe some options around here:

With the hard drive attached to the Xbox 360 console, select System, Memory.
Highlight your hard drive.
Choose Device Options

Someone might have some more info though...

As said, this is built into the games AFAIk so there isn't a way around it. A lot of games ask anyway, regardless of how many storage devices you have.

Thats whats different! all this time since i bought my new jasper I've always thought something was different when playing games and I couldnt put my finger on it but its this storage device selection screen/blade.

It's not TOO annoying, just an extra button press before you start playing a game lol

I guess I'll have to live with it, not saying it's getting on my nerves, just saying that it would be better if I didn't have to :)
